Spokane Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Network (SEEN)

A Catholic Charities Eastern Washington Initiative, in Partnership with Gonzaga University and the University of Notre Dame

The Spokane Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Network (SEEN) is a groundbreaking new program designed to empower under-resourced entrepreneurs in the Spokane region. Launched by Catholic Charities Eastern Washington (CCEW) in collaboration with Gonzaga University and the University of Notre Dame’s Urban Poverty Business Initiative (UPBI), SEEN connects local dreamers with the training, mentorship, and resources they need to build thriving small businesses.

Our Mission
At Catholic Charities, we believe entrepreneurship can be a powerful pathway out of poverty and into sustainable success. SEEN exists to unlock that potential—helping individuals who may not otherwise have access to traditional support systems. By combining CCEW’s deep community roots with Gonzaga’s academic expertise and Notre Dame’s proven model, we are creating an ecosystem where new ventures can flourish.

What SEEN Provides

  • Bootcamp Training: A multi-session entrepreneurship bootcamp equips participants with the tools to launch and grow their businesses.

  • Mentorship: Local business leaders and professionals walk alongside participants, offering practical guidance and encouragement.

  • Peer Network: Entrepreneurs build lasting connections with one another, fostering a culture of collaboration and support.

  • Access to Resources: SEEN connects participants with local financing opportunities, legal and accounting support, and business development services.

Community Impact
In its first year, SEEN is welcoming a diverse cohort of Spokane entrepreneurs representing industries from food service and retail to creative arts and trades. Beyond launching individual businesses, SEEN is cultivating a peer-mentor network that will eventually serve multiple affiliated programs across the Inland Northwest—expanding the ripple effect of entrepreneurial success.

Why Spokane
With over 230,000 residents in the city and nearly 600,000 across the metro region, Spokane is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Pacific Northwest. Catholic Charities sees entrepreneurship as a key strategy to strengthen neighborhoods, support families, and create economic opportunities that benefit the entire region.

Get Involved
SEEN thrives on community partnerships. Whether you are a mentor, business professional, or simply passionate about strengthening Spokane’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, we invite you to connect with us.
