We're proud to have been part of Chelan County PUD's 50-year plan, upgrading support and maintenance facilities at Rock Island and Rocky Reach Dams. Our project included redevelopment and new construction at both sites. As CCPUD modernized generators, turbines, and spill gates, intense coordination was crucial to ensure uninterrupted operation. At Rocky Reach, with its 11 generators/turbines and 12 spillway gates, we built new facilities and refurbished existing ones, including a warehouse, offices, and shops. #lydigconstruction

Wednesday, our John Rogers Elementary School project reached a significant milestone with its Topping Out Ceremony, marking the completion of the building's framework. This centuries-old tradition, originating from Europe, symbolizes the collective effort of architects, engineers, and construction workers. It also emphasizes the project's commitment to safety, with no incidents recorded during construction. Beyond tradition, the ceremony underscores the dedication to safety and excellence that has defined the project. Looking ahead, we aim to maintain this standard as we continue building not just a school, but a thriving community hub for generations to come. #ToppingOutCeremony #ConstructionSafetyWeek #SafeConstruction #SafetyFirst #BuildSafe #SafetyCulture

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Lydig is proud to take part in a national effort to prioritize the well-being of employees. We believe in fostering a culture of compassion and support, both within our construction projects and beyond. Whether it's recognizing the signs that we need a break or extending a helping hand to our colleagues, we aim to actively cultivate an environment where everyone feels empowered to prioritize their mental health. Reaching out to resources like Employee Assistance Programs or mental health professionals is a proactive step towards self-care. We will continue to check in on each other, listen without judgment, and offer support whenever it is needed. It is Lydig’s goal to build a community where everyone feels supported on their journey towards mental health. #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #BreakTheSilence #YouAreNotAlone #SpeakUp #MentalHealthMatters #StopTheStigma #SelfCare #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #LydigConstruction

Seattle City Light’s Usk Native Salmonid Conservation Program is making waves in the protection of threatened fish species. Establishing self-sustaining populations of Westslope cutthroat trout in the tributaries draining into Boundary Reservoir, northeastern Washington. As part of a relicensing settlement, we have designed, constructed, and operated a cutting-edge fish propagation facility, partnering with HDR since 2013 for planning, design, engineering, and regulatory support. Our facility integrates genetic and ecological principles for optimal diversity and post-release survival, ensuring a brighter future for our native salmonids. Our project extends beyond fish conservation. We have built various structures and infrastructures, including administration buildings, metal structures, water treatment facilities, residences, and essential water systems. We have meticulously minimized impacts on native Townsend’s big-eared bats, while restoring stream channels, constructing access roads, upgrading stormwater facilities, and removing decommissioned structures and pipes. Join us in celebrating this monumental effort toward conserving our precious aquatic ecosystems. Together, we're making a splash for the future of our environment and our community! At Lydig, we take pride playing a role in shaping the future of education in our community. With each new school built, we envision a brighter future for students and faculty alike. Our most recent replacement project involves the new construction of 140,000 SF Sacajawea Middle School located on the north side of the occupied campus in Spokane. This project unfolded in three phases over 24 months: an early site package, construction of the new middle school, and demolition and field development. Throughout the process, safety remained paramount. Our team diligently ensured the well-being of students, staff, workers, and local residents amidst the challenges of a limited site and heavy community traffic. The completed building caters to over 800 students, featuring modern amenities such as a commercial kitchen, administration offices, gymnasium, workout facility, CTE offerings, and 40 flexible classrooms, including dedicated spaces for music and art. We feel privileged to have played a part in establishing a supportive environment conducive to learning and development. Photography by: Lara Swimmer
